For the creation of the new watchmaking factory in Geneva for a renowned brand, Scilla Architectural Design, in collaboration with Scale Architecture and ARS Agency, developed a tailor-made project, taking into account the high demands of the watchmaking industry. This complex 1600m² project, scheduled to run from April to December 2024, is based on a rigorous approach combining design, functionality, cost management, deadlines and visual identity.
The first phase consisted of an in-depth study and research, aimed at understanding the specific needs of a manufacture while respecting the standards of excellence of Swiss watchmaking. Scilla AD has developed a global concept, combining timeless aesthetics and ergonomics, while ensuring that every square meter is optimized for efficient workflows and future customer visits.
In this perspective, moodboards, were created to define the visual atmosphere, relying on a careful selection of materials, colors, and furniture. Each of the decisions taken regarding textures and shades were designed to reflect the watchmaking industry. Scilla AD also modeled the spaces with 3D visualizations, allowing a clear view of the final result even before the work began.
The layout plans as well as the detailed technical plans (elevations and sections) have been carried out to ensure that spaces, particularly kitchens and technical areas, meet both functionality and aesthetic criteria.
In collaboration with the partners, the project is continuing according to the established schedule, with close coordination between the different teams, ensuring that every aspect of the project meets the deadlines and technical requirements set.
